Mini RC Cars from 1/28 - 1/18 Scale

"Cheap mini rc cars are the current rage, mainly because their small size allows you to play and race anywhere, even indoors. Here is a guide to buying the right brand and model."

There is new excitement in the r/c car hobby, due to the fun mini rc cars from Associated, Losi, HPI, XRay, Tamiya and Kyosho. If you look at online hobby shops you'll see popular are the 1/28, 1/24, 1/20 and 1/18 scale remote controlled models.

1/28 Mini Z
The mini rc craze could be attributed to the Kyosho Mini-Z. Powered by 4 AA sized batteries, these realistic r/c models reached 10mph out of the box. With hop ups, speeds exceeded 20mph.

1/24 Scale
Popular were the Tamiya Tamtech. No longer produced, these have become collectors items. Powered by a small 7.2v battery pack and a powerful electric motor, these minis could exceed 20mph out of the box.

1/20 Scale
In this category you can buy the A-Tech mini monster truck. With 4wd and large tires, these are fun models to bash around the house or beach. I have one, and simply love playing with it.

1/18 Mini RC Cars
One of the most popular categories, 1/18 scale has grown with models such as the Associated RC18T, Losi Mini-T, and HPI Micro RS4. You can get these for sale at buy/sell section of online forums, from your LHS, or from a good online hobby shop.
