About RC Cars
Hi, my name is Joel. Welcome and enjoy your stay.
Some of you might know me from my original website, www.rccartips.com. That has gotten over 10,000,000 page views and over 7,800 subscribers to the free RCCarTips newsletter thanks to your support.
However that site has gotten too big. To make things easier to find, I’ve decided to create this site, www.rccarsrtr.com, using WordPress to organize the content.
On a personal note, I am 38 years old and have been playing with rc cars since I was 7 years old. And I still love it, whether playing, racing, or just sharing and helping beginners get started.
My collection is quite a few. I have nitro, electrics, mini, drifters, trucks and toys. Personal brand favorite is Tamiya, but I also have Associated, HPI, Kyosho, A-Tech, and those cheap rc toys you can buy in department stores.
I used to have an off road track in my mother’s backyard and played with Tamiya Hotshot and Wild Willy. Now I have a small track in my garage where I usually just drift or practise with my mini rc cars.
I am still active in racing and love on-road nitro touring cars. Lately I have been racing 4wd off-road buggies with my Tamiya Durga DB01 using a modified Novak 4.5r brushless motor. It really flies over the jumps, so much fun.
But my real love is to race in the yearly Tamiya Championships. I love it because a regular joe can have a chance to become a world champion. Also I find racing Tamiya M-Chassis (mini) and F1 cars very enjoyable. It is also fun to represent my country in overseas Tamiya races and compete with other countries. This year I flew to Bangkok to race in the 2009 Tamiya Asia Cup. Lot’s of fun.
So I hope this site can help you out. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions, I would love to hear from you. And maybe we will bump into each other in some events or races.
