Let’s revive F1 and mini racing again and keep it part of our regular rc racing schedule so we can make the most of these types of chassis. Our long term goal is to have monthly races for F1 and mini and if we can sustain it, cap a short series with trophies and/or prizes.

Awesome!!! That sums it up for the Nov. 21, 2009 Formula 1 and Mini “Shakedown Day”.
Despite a modest turnout of five entries for each class, the racing was close and the action was intense!!! At the end of the day, the racers clamored for more. More to come next month (pending schedule availability at JPRaceway).
Thanks first and foremost to JP for allowing us use of his excellent track, Ramil and the crew, Gerry, Mitch and especially Neil for the support, technical assistance and encouragement. Thanks also are due to Mark Flores for unselfishly volunteering his laptop, Joel Mangilit for his readiness in bringing a backup laptop. Most importantly, thanks to those who attended and were patient enough as we conducted racing while figuring out the niggles of running the amb system. Special thanks also to our guest TC participants.

Commentaries:
Formula 1: As promised, open chassis, tires and motors for this class and we saw foam and rubber tires, silver can and brushless motors, etc. In the end, foam tires and silver cans still dominated. Noteworthy is the fact that GT bodies showed excellent handling potential as displayed by Mark Flores.
Mini: 4wd and FWD mixed it up and the former proved superior. A revelation was that Sport tuned and Hobbywing 13turn BL systems proved to be a very close match performance wise.
TC STOCK: TC racers practicing for the HPI Challenge in Thailand were welcomed as part of a guest class during this Shakedown Day.
Congratulations to all the participants. The smiles on all our faces proves that we were all winners yesterday.
